In my capacity as the Gulf Association of Endocrinology & Diabetes (GAED) President & on behalf of the GAED Board of Directors, it is my proud privilege to welcome you all to the Gulf Association of Endocrinology & Diabetes Virtual Congress, October 7th-9th 2021.
The Congress this year is a special one as it is the first Congress for the Gulf Association of Endocrinology & Diabetes (GAED) since its inception in 2020. (GAED) is a non-for-profit organization established in 2020, constituted by a group of physicians in the field endocrinology and diabetes practicing in the GCC countries and interested in building a medical society that deals with all aspects of the specialty of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism. With great enthusiasm and passion for knowledge and education, GAED welcomes you to join this community that represents you.
It is our real pleasure to have the congress this year hosting key endocrinologists in the region along with key cardiologists, Internists and other specialties that are interested in the endocrinology field from all over the GCC region as well as guests from the MENA region and the Globe.
It is my immense pleasure to state that this will be a world-class congress aiming at covering the subjects of emerging trends and recent advancements in the field of endocrinology and diabetes through a top selection from the regional & international key experts in the endocrinology field.
Knowledge is exponential. Therefore, all involved in the practice of endocrinology and diabetes whether, specialists, consultants, trainees, researchers, and allied health professionals shall benefit tremendously from this confluence of minds in evidence-based science and clinical practice pearls.
The congress will provide a rich blend of plenary sessions, specialized parallel sessions as well as state of the art lectures. It will focus on the main topics “Diabetes, Lipidology, obesity, thyroid, adrenal, pituitary, women health and bone. The parallel sessions include adult and pediatric tracks.
I would like to thank the researchers who submitted hundreds of their research work to be presented during the GAED Congress.
I would also like to thank the top pharmaceutical companies participating in the congress that are sharing their updates in the exhibition area or during allocated symposia.
To put a conference of this magnitude together is not a small task. To that end, I want to thank the scientific committee lead by Dr. Nasser Aljuhani for their dedication and meticulous work.
Lastly, I would like to thank all of the congress participants for their contributions which are the foundation of this conference.
